Before and after
how it was
Enquiries about windows and doors arrive vague, and the quote depends on information the customer does not think to give. A generic chatbot makes it worse: it invents answers and, worse still, invents prices.
what we built
A bespoke WordPress plugin: an on-page widget, answers grounded in the company knowledge base, recognition of a quote request and structured collection of the contact.
$ ls ./components
How it is built
-
01
Answers anchored to documents
The knowledge base accepts PDFs too: the bot answers with what the company actually wrote, not with what strikes it as plausible.
-
02
A block on unauthorised prices
The server-side prompt stops it firing off figures. A wrong quote given by a bot is a lost negotiation and a promise somebody has to keep.
-
03
Structured contacts
The guided conversation collects the data that actually matters, files it and sends the notification: what arrives is a workable enquiry, not a chat log to read back.
$ ./results --after
How it turned out
[ok] Answers grounded in the company documents rather than generic
[ok] No price given out without authorisation
[ok] Contacts filed in structured form and notified by email
// services involved
